Production Meetings
Wed Sept. 4th. Cori wants the chorus to be in navy, grey, and other neutral colors so that Christopher really stands out in his red hoodie. Eden and Cage had to drop out due to health issues. Eden was replaced by Morgan Case and Cage's lines were just divied up among the rest of the chorus.

McLennan Theatre’s “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” leans on visuals and sound effects, not music, to tell its story of Christopher Boone (Caleb Lewis), a young neurodivergent man whose investigation of the murder of a neighbor’s dog takes him on a life-changing journey as family secrets get revealed.
Christopher (Caleb Lewis) soars in his imagination in McLennan Theatre's "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," which opens a three performance run on Thursday.
Cori Burkett, providedFor McLennan Community College theater instructor Cori Burkett, the play’s director, a 2015 Broadway performance of “Curious Incident,” adapted from Mark Haddon’s book, captivated her with its storytelling through motion and images.
The book tells the story from Christopher’s point of view while the stage adaptation uses a play-within-a-play structure that shifts time sequences and emphasizes Christopher’s distinctive way of looking at the world.
“The play never says what his diagnosis is ... (but) his world is a world of logic and numbers and math,” Burkett explained. “The scenes are not linear. You see how his brain is working.”
Or trying to work. A visit to a London train station proves an overwhelming sensory experience while inanimate objects move and sometimes take on a life of their own.
Joining Lewis as Christopher is an eight-actor ensemble that’s onstage much of the time, playing the various characters and objects who cross Christopher’s path and carry him — literally — when his imagination takes flight.
