Details:Trial by Jury is a comic opera by Sir Arthur Sullivan and Sir W.S. Gilbert that satirizes the British judicial system. The one-act operetta is set in the Court of Exchequer and tells the story of a young man being sued for breaking his promise to marry his betrothed. The cast includes a learned judge, a tearful plaintiff, a dishonest defendant, bridesmaids, and a biased jury who are all in love with the plaintiff. The judge ultimately decides to marry the woman himself.
