Just me talking about costume-y kind of stuff
The book for May is Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty.
I really liked this one and had to finish it as soon as I started it. It's about what goes on in the seamy underbelly of Australian Kindergarten roundup. It's funny but it's also pitiful and distressing. It's definitely a Mom kind of book. The book for June is One Thousand White Women by Jim Fergus. This is historical fiction about the Indian treaties and our government's treatment of the natives as well as the disenfranchised women they use as a bargaining chip. Very sad. TBA books are All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr and The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. All the Light We Cannot See is also historical fiction about the occupation of France in WWII and one blind girl's struggle to survive. It's a beautiful story. The Girl on the Train is similar to Big Little Lies in that it's set in modern day London and deals with the unexpected consequences of divorce: depression, alcoholism, and losing your job. In this case, there's also a murder mystery. I liked this one a lot too.
