Just me talking about costume-y kind of stuff
For the last month, we've been living with contractors in and around our house, mostly all day every day, while they are turning our garage into our new Master Bedroom/Bathroom suite. As a family of 5 with only two bathrooms, we really needed another one. The beauty part is, the new bedroom puts us at the other end of the house from the children. So far everything has gone almost according to plan, which is that the contractors went over budget, didn't finish by when they said they would, and when they said they were done we were still finding things that they didn't do or that didn't work. Having lived through a few of my mother's remodel projects, I totally expected this. The good news is is that they've left our room to us to finish up the details and we got the rest of the money to pay them off (thanks, Mom!). Rob has been amazing doing all the little things that still needed doing and most especially for staying on the contractors' collective butts to finish stuff. My big role in all this is to get our old room ready for Sarah to move in. We're repainting over my Moulin Rouge themed red and gold room and turning it into a Pink Paradise. If Sarah knew about Steel Magnolias she'd be quoting Shelby: "Pink is my signature color" "It's not pink and pink, it's blush and bashful!" So we went to Home Despot and bought 4 different shades of pink. The kids were all enlisted to paint the walls, the bathroom, and the closet. I got the trim and the ceiling and the all the sponge roller texturing that involved. It took 4 days to paint and one day to move in. The moving in was almost worse than the painting. Here are some photos of how everything turned out.
