Just me talking about costume-y kind of stuff
This was our second time to get a table for recruiting at the HOT Comic Con. This time our Engineering department went with us. They brought their Rube Goldberg machine and ran it every 10 minutes. The students and profs talked to Seth about their major and gave our kids T-shirts. Seth wore his to school this morning. We were much better prepared for it this time around. We had season brochures to hand out and degree plans and recruiting packets. We got three and half pages of people signed up for the mailing list. I recognized a bunch of people from last time (Cyborg Cinderella/Hermione) and a bunch of people recognized me too as well as from my armour panel at Geekfest 2014. I made some new contacts for getting our students to help out with Geekfest's Yule Ball as well as a local Hauted House in Reisel. I met the manager of Creatorspace that just opened here in Waco and we discussed a project we might do together. Most importantly we got to see Nichelle Nichols again and this time got a family photo with her. Rob got to meet Boba Fett and had him autograph two Star Wars posters. He was very nice and chatted with Rob and Seth a long time about his work on Doctor Who and James Bond. I saw a bunch of students and former students there and Seth competed in the kids' Costume Contest this year. He didn't win anything with his Matt Smith cosplay, but it was a good experience all the same.
